This time last year I was on my way to Europe for the first time ever.
As far as holiday destinations went, Europe had been on my bucket list for the longest time. It was a trip that was booked kind of on a whim post-Christmas break, because what else do you do when you return to work in the new year feeling like you need another break, and preferably one that involves going overseas? Everyone needs something to look forward to to get themselves through those long working days and a holiday is my antidote. And so, for about a month during June 2019, my partner and I travelled through Europe.
I have recently been reminiscing a lot about that trip and thinking how grateful I am we had the opportunity to do it last year. No one could’ve predicted that a year later in 2020 we would be facing possibly the biggest pandemic of our lifetime and wouldn’t be allowed to travel to other Australian states and territories, let alone out of the country. So the next few posts will very much be a trip down memory lane for me as I share some of those moments from our holiday in Europe.
